Master Staff are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for experienced Press Brake Operators to join their established manufacturing team in the Preston area.

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled and reliable operators looking for a full-time position within a well-established manufacturing and engineering company.

Pay: £14.36 – £16.00+ per hour
Shifts: Days or Nights Available

Successful candidates must have previous experience setting, programming and operating press brake machinery and be confident working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

The Role

As a Press Brake Operator, you’ll be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machinery to produce accurate, high-quality metal components in line with production requirements.

You’ll work from engineering drawings and technical specifications, selecting the correct tooling and machine settings to ensure components are manufactured accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and operating press brake machinery
  • Programming press brake machines for a variety of jobs
  • Bending and forming sheet metal components
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Working accurately from technical specifications and measurements
  • Selecting and installing the correct tooling
  • Setting machine parameters, including bend angles and dimensions
  • Checking finished components against required measurements and tolerances
  • Using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Making machine adjustments where required
  • Identifying and reporting defects or production issues
  • Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
  • Maintaining accurate production records
  • Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Following all company health and safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

  • Previous Press Brake Operator experience
  • Experience setting and programming press brake machinery
  • Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
  • Ability to read and understand engineering and technical drawings
  • Good numerical and measurement skills
  • Experience working to specified dimensions and tolerances
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A strong focus on producing high-quality work
  • A reliable and hardworking attitude
  • Good understanding of manufacturing health and safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work day or night shifts
